That’s why one couple decided to build a custom bed that is large enough for the entire family, pets included. Chris and Marisea Hughes are the proud parents of 8 rescue dogs, but their bed started to get very small for everyone to comfortably sleep in it. Since all of the dogs wanted to sleep beside them, on many nights they just ended up sleeping on the couch or being pushed on the floor. To solve this problem, they ordered the custom mega bed and now they can all enjoy a good night’s sleep together. It took 6 months to build such a large bed, which also has a set of stairs so the senior dogs can climb it easily.

It was designed by Mike Ford, who besides the drawers and blanket storage also added a beautiful hand-carved paw print to the headboard. Rescuing senior dogs has been a lifelong mission for the Hughes and they have a non-profit called Mr. Mo Project that takes care of senior and sick dogs.

The younger ones get adopted much faster and sadly, older animals will never again find a forever home for themselves. That’s why NGO’s like Mr. Mo Project should be encouraged and supported by the public.

Dog owners probably experience the lack of space more frequently as their furry friends are growing so fast and will take ownership of the bed in no time. And if you have more than 1 dog, how can you not let them all sleep in your bed? You can’t just pick your favorite and leave the rest behind, right?
